orange..white..green..for the holiday! (day 1)

Wednesday February 2, me and three of my friends, Allison, J Konops, and Amanda departed from Malaga, Spain to go to Dublin, Ireland. As I walked on the plane I already felt like I was in Ireland because majority of the people on the plane were from Ireland and I was extremely excited that I would be listening to those accents for the next four days all day long :) Looking out the window I only saw green. We were there!! &&^%$ I don't think I've ever had a bigger smile on my face when I walked off that plane. I have always wanted to go to Ireland and here I was standing in Dublin's airport. I got my Ireland stamp in my passport and, of course, that was green too. A nice Irish man helped us find out way to our hostel, The Bunk House, located on Parnell street. The hostel only cost us 8 euro a night and we were sharing the same room as people from all over the world. We met people from Holland, Africa, Austria, Portugal and some other little countries that I don't remember.

Also, there was this man from Hong Kong. He spoke very poor English. Me , being the friendly idiot that I am, said hi because I say hi to everyone since I love meeting new people especially from other countries. Bad decision. The only words that he kept repeating to me were that "America has power..we need to be friends..and Hong Kong..and I couldn't understand the rest.." and he didn't stop. Also, every time we came back to the hostel he was ALWAYS in there sleeping. I don't think he ever left the hostel and we were curious as to why he was even in Dublin to begin with if he was chillin in a hostel all day. It was interesting. That night we went to this one bar. At first we sat down at a table because it was like a restaurant place. Well after sitting there for about 10 minutes and still no one greeting us to get our drinks, we just went and sat at the bar. Our bartenders name was Louis and he was great. There were two other bartenders that were brothers, Evan and Ian.. I thought it was so cute how their names both started with "E". Oh wait...Ian starts with an "I". They did not let me live that one down. I'm blaming it on the Bulmers  Apparently Jude Law and Enrique Iglesies are from Ireland because that's who we met that night? Not at all. But these two guys that were up at the bar with us kept telling us that's who they were. We asked Enrique to sing us some of his songs from his CD. It was funny because he seemed to have forgotten all of the words. They were really nice and our first friends in Ireland! After that we went to this pub called "The Globe". We met these other three Irish boys there. They were a  lot of fun. There was an Irish boy off in the corner that was playing the guitar and singing and I went and sat right in the front row and listened to him play. He was really good and I guess, according to the people I was sitting by, they said he writes his own music and plays there every Wednesday night. When he was done he came and sat by us and bought me a drink. I felt like I was in the movie P.S I Love You when Gerrard Butler sings to Holly in the Pub while playing the guitar. Things in Ireland close around 3:30/ 4 in the morning unlike in Spain where they close at 7/8. We weren't used to this so from there we went to McDonalds. I'm not sure what time their McDonald's closes at but it was open when we went, and yes it tastes just like American McDonalds. I met a boy named Steven there and he was lovin that I was obsessed with his accent haha. After that we spent our first night in Dublin, Ireland. :)
